What Just Herbs Lipstick Doesn't Contain:

Benefits

A regular lipstick is made by suspending coloured pigments in a base of petroleum-derived emollients such as paraffin oils, waxes along with texturising agents such silicones, and other form-imparting fillers. This list of additives is even longer for additional claims such as ‘non-transferable’, ‘long-lasting’ etc.

These chemical additives do enhance the sensorial and the texture of the product but have no nutritional value for lips - the skin on which being the thinnest- is most vulnerable to Vata aggravation. Also, many such materials are not environmentally-friendly as well.

So when our customers demanded organic lipsticks, we decided to take the ‘less is more’ approach and cut out unnecessary ingredients from the formula while making them as wholesome as possible without compromising on the ‘glam’ factor.

The skin on the lips being much thinner than the rest of the body is the first casualty of Vata aggravation, according to Ayurveda. Dry, chapped lips are a manifestation of internal dryness which is symptomatic of Vata aggravation. Ayurveda prescribes the use of oil therapy with ghee and sesame oil infused with vata balancing herbs.

How to use

Step 1: Create a cross on your cupid’s bow.

Step 2: Apply the lipstick from the centre to the contours of your upper lip.

Step 3: Similarly, glide across the bottom lip for a seamless finish.

Safety & Precautions

Perform a patch test by applying it on the back of your hand, before use to check for any allergic reactions or skin sensitivity.

Avoid contact with eyes.

Certificate + Authenticity

To verify that a herb is authentic it is issued with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) which contains tests (heavy metals/safety/identification) done on every batch of herb manufacturing. E.g Amla COA or Ashwagandha COA. COAs for every herb are available via email request.

Please note shilajit cannot be claimed as organic as it's not cultivated by humans, it's extracted from special shilajit rocks which is only produced by nature. Shilajit can only be tested for heavy metals which we have done in a Eurofins Laboratory (document is available here)
