Raktaprash is a traditional, jam-like food made from amla (Indian gooseberry), herbs, spices, and rock sugar. It is based on ancient recipes passed down through generations.

At the center of this recipe is amla, a well-known plant in traditional Indian wellness. It is slow-blended with herbs like neem, sariva, manjistha, sappan wood, and khadira. A mix of warming spices-including long pepper, ginger, cumin, cardamom, and Indian bay leaf-is added for flavor. Ghee (clarified butter) and rock sugar hold everything together, giving it a smooth, sweet, and herbal taste.
